Nancy Pelosi has been involved in an effort to repeal the life-saving Hyde Amendment for decades. The Hyde Amendment was enacted in the years following Roe vs. Wade to ensure federal taxpayer dollars are not funding elective abortions. Since then, more than 2 million lives have been saved from Abortion because their parents were offered prenatal care coverage rather than a free abortion. These living children and adults today are disproportionately from black and brown communities. It is racist to expect minority communities to shoulder a disproportionate number of unwanted abortions due to their economic circumstances. These two million lives deserve to be earth side with us. They are our human brothers and sisters. Pregnant people need resources and healthcare—not to be coerced by the state into an abortion because they’re poor!
